DELAWARE

The Delaware Solid Waste Authority (DSWA) (Click on Programs and then click on Electronic Goods Recycling) has an Electronic Goods Recycling program that lets homeowners and businesses conveniently drop off their unwanted items for free at DSWA facilities statewide.

MAINE

Where individual municipal programs vary, residents are encouraged to contact their local solid waste transfer station and recycling center. Maine's State Planning Office (SPO)'s Municipal Recycling Programs in Maine document provides a listing of Maine community contacts.

Maine SPO's HHW Cost-Share Funding assists municipalities with their used electronics collections. Information includes a listing of municipal programs that have received grants from the State Planning Office to establish programs for managing used electronics.

Maine SPO's Electronics Recycling Resources has information on recycling used electronics, and what collection events may look like, as well as for a listing of commercial vendors who are able to accept and manage used electronics.

Maine's DEP's Universal Waste Management and Recycling Companies is a list of U.S. vendors that collect Universal Wastes (includes computers).

MASSACHUSETTS

Massachusetts' Department of Environmental Protection (MA DEP) has information on Computer Monitors and Television Disposal Options for Residents and Small Business that includes municipal collections and donation programs. Also provides several links to other private resources, i.e. Wastecap, ShareTechnology, etc.

NEW HAMPSHIRE

New Hampshire's Department of Environmental Services (NH DES) has information on Municipal Electronic Collection that includes communities (with contact information) that have conducted either electronic collections or collected monitors and televisions within the last year.

NEW JERSEY

New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station and Rutgers Cooperative Extension provide information on Where to Recycle Computers, Fluorescent Bulbs and Mercury Devices in Your County that includes private recycling companies and municipal collections.

NEW YORK

The New York Sate Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has Information on Used Electronics which tells residents that electronics from households (e.g., home computers, home televisions) are not considered hazardous waste, even if they fail the TC/TCLP test. (If usable household electronics are sold for non-household use, they cease to be considered household waste.) Recycling and disposal requirements for household wastes vary by municipality. Please check with your municipality for information about disposing of used electronics in your community.

RHODE ISLAND

The Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation (RIRRC) offers Rhode Island Residents free recycling for their home computer equipment and cellular phones. Residents can recycle their computers, monitors, mouse pointers, zip drives, modems, scanners, laptops, printers, cellular phones, and all other related equipment at a scheduled collection at RI Resource Recovery's facility in Johnston, RI or at one of the scheduled satellite collection dates.
