Demand and Supply Side Policy Work Group
The work group's goal is to increase the supply of post-consumer plastics, glass, and paper to the marketplace by exploring different supply-side strategies and to compose a Supply Side Policy Guide to compliment minimum post-consumer recycled content model legislations. The Northeast Recycling Council's (NERC) Board of Directors and Advisory Members recognized the need to refocus on supply side issues and created the Supply Side Policy Committee. The Committee's primary role is to identify and discuss strategies used by different stakeholders to increase the supply of recycled materials and to share this information by creating the Guide to Increasing Recycling Supply. GUIDE TO INCREASING RECYCLING SUPPLY
The Guide to Increasing Recycling Supply is a compilation of case studies about real examples of regulatory and non-regulatory strategies used by state and local governments, private industry, and non-profit organizations to increase the quantity and quality of residential recyclable materials — paper, cardboard, glass containers, plastic packaging, aluminum containers, and steel cans. Explore methods for increasing the quality and quantity of recyclables across the value chain.
