Hazardous Materials in the Waste Stream: Impacts and Mitigation Strategies

(November 17th, 2025)

This webinar examined the growing risks posed by hazardous materials such as lithium-ion batteries and pressurized tanks throughout the waste and recycling industry. From fires and explosions to operational disruptions, these hazards are impacting MRFs, C&D facilities, e-scrap processors, scrap yards, and transfer stations. Panelists discussed evolving state policies and legislation shaping how these challenges are being addressed today and what lies ahead for future operations.
